Save Time. Save Money. Elevate Performance with Factory-Fabricated Precision
At Environmental Protection, Inc. (EPI), factory fabrication is not just a convenience—it is a technical advantage. By fabricating geomembrane panels in a controlled manufacturing environment, EPI can reduce field seams by up to 80%, dramatically improving installation efficiency while minimizing risk.

Fewer field seams translate directly into faster deployment, reduced field welding, less inspection and testing, and lower labor exposure. The result is a cleaner installation process, tighter quality control, and a measurable reduction in total installed cost—without sacrificing performance.

Every geomembrane liner fabricated by EPI is a custom made to order finished product. All of our geomembrane raw materials are highly engineered, made to very specific tolerances and vigorously tested for compliance. No regrind. No dilution. No compromises. This material formulation delivers consistent physical properties, superior flexibility, and long-term durability in demanding containment environments.

EPI’s fabrication process is highly technical and fully customizable. Panel sizes, layouts, and seam configurations are engineered to match the specific geometry and logistics of each project, allowing installers to work faster while achieving tighter tolerances and fewer critical welds in the field. Critical seams are produced under controlled conditions by trained technicians using proven procedures—well before material ever reaches the jobsite.

As a result for example, EPI has always been an industry leader in PVC geomembranes, therefore every PVC liner panel fabricated by EPI exceeds the requirements of:
-
ASTM D7176 – Flexible Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) Geomembranes
-
ASTM D7408 – Factory and Field Seamed PVC Geomembranes
This commitment to standards is not theoretical—it is built directly into EPI’s materials, processes, and documentation.

Real-World Performance in Demanding Applications
EPI-fabricated PVC geomembranes are trusted in high-profile and technically demanding projects across the country, including municipal water infrastructure, environmental containment systems, and large-scale conveyance applications. These installations span diverse climates and site conditions, demonstrating consistent long-term performance where failure is not an option.

Industry Leadership and Technical Engagement
Environmental Protection, Inc. maintains active membership in leading industry and standards organizations, reinforcing its role as a technically engaged manufacturer committed to continuous improvement and best practices, including:
-
Geosynthetic Research Institute
-
Flexible Geomembrane Institute
-
ASTM International
-
International Association of Geosynthetic Installers
-
Michigan Oil and Gas Association
This involvement ensures EPI’s products and fabrication methods align with the latest research, testing protocols, and evolving industry standards.

Technical Information

PVC
EPI's PVC fabricated geomembrane liners are single-ply construction. Polyvinyl Chloride is the main polymer.
EPI uses only first quality virgin resins and each material meets or surpasses the ASTM D 7176 minimum specifications* for materials and ASTM D 7408 minimum specifications for seam strength.**

Friction Angle
Dr. Shobha Bhatia and Gautam Kasturi of Syracuse University conducted interface friction angle testing of 3 different types of PVC geomembranes and 2 types of HDPE membranes with sand, sandy loam, silty clay and non-woven geotextile.

Geomembrane Research
In the realm of modern agriculture, the need for innovative and reliable solutions to manage water resources, prevent soil erosion, and contain harmful substances is more critical than ever. Since its inception in 1980, EPI has been at the forefront of delivering environmental solutions, driven by a commitment to sustainability and innovation through quality, extensive testing, and research projects to advance the industry.
